Crystal Chandeliers Take Me Back…
I’ve always been fascinated by crystal chandeliers.
They add an air of classic elegance to a room and really take you back to a different era. Every time I see one, I feel a comforting wave of nostalgia wash over me. The house I grew up in had one, and I used to love watching it glisten and sparkle in the light as I sat at the wooden dining table. Looking back, I don’t really know why we had a chandelier, our house was small and middle-class modest, so the crystal chandelier just seems out of place. But as a child it was one of my favorite things about that place, and it left a lasting impression on me and feelings about crystal chandeliers.
I hope that one day, long after my apartment days are over, I can go crystal chandelier shopping for my home. In fact, I have a mental crystal chandelier wish list. I really like the long, two-tiered chandeliers, with the dangly crystals at the bottom. But unless you have extremely high ceilings those are just too much. So I also really like the small-scale, flush mount crystal chandeliers. They work better for lower ceilings without skimping on the beautiful features that make chandeliers so special.
But it’s a long time until I can go chandelier shopping, so right now, my wish list will have to stay just that.
