In recent years we have been witnessing a shift in the way the fashion industry markets its products. With so much criticism over the use of models (there is a variety of criticisms, you can choose just one if you like), the industry has shifted its focus on the design elements surrounding the products and surrounding the models. All of the major brands come out with a monthly or a seasonal advertising book which shows all of the products, whether it’s clothes or jewelry. But the focus has tilted more towards the actual space around them. With high end crystal chandeliers leading the industry as a designer’s favorite. Chandeliers have always been associated with high fashion but their entrance into mainstream use and the drop in prices has certainly aided this trend.
If you pick up the latest “Urban Outfitters” or “Armani Exchange” catalog you are bound to see the chandeliers as a main part of the picture, along with the fashionable products that these companies sell. What is it about these chandeliers that makes them so popular? Perhaps it is the elegance that they portray, or maybe it is just the special form of light that they generate in a space. Either way, they are becoming fashion’s latest star.
