Using Vintage Crystal Chandeliers In A Contemporary Setting

Home decor is once again getting a revamp. The old ways of keeping same with same are gone. Totally ancient. It is absolutely fine to mix vintage elements into a contemporary home. By all standards, contemporary is not limited to modern design. Contemporary really just signifies a tendency towards current trends and what is trendy now are vintage design elements. Some of the easiest vintage pieces to introduce into a home without creating culture shock are lights. The power of lighting fixtures has enormous impact on a room.

Take for example crystal chandeliers. They are not exclusive to the Addams family no matter what you think. They are far from dusty and dreary (and hanging places for eight-legged friends). In fact, you can find vintage crystal chandeliers that work as absolutely amazing centerpieces for contemporary rooms. The key is not to clash with the current furniture.  An antique brass crystal chandelier is a smart way to showcase a glass or wooden dining table.  It could also be placed in the living room near a couch with decorative pillows. Use it as a means to draw attention to the most interesting pieces. Not to mention it should garner enough attention of its own.

The more people incorporate chandeliers into their homes, the more the Addams family will have to switch to the clap-on lights (or more like snap-on in their case), thereby bringing them into the modern age. In all seriousness, though, crystal chandeliers are gorgeous and timeless pieces. They can add depth to the lighting in any room. They’re beautiful in foyers, bedrooms, bathrooms, and even outdoors.
