General Crystal Chandelier Design Tips For The Home

Whenever you go out shopping for crystal chandeliers you should be looking for something both fashionable and functional to incorporate into the home. Lighting fixtures like this are just as crucial to your design aesthetics as any piece of artwork or decor that you select. Would you go out looking for a piece of furniture only to select something that does not flow with the rest of the room? Of course not! you should get the same enjoyment out of your selection that you would anything else that you buy to make your home feel, well, more home-y. A good chandelier adds value to your home. It is not only a way to light the room, it is an overall investment.

There are easy ways to find a good match for your home. Start with a material, or color, or anything in basic design theory. You can select from a base metal material. Some chandeliers will have shades, while others may have hanging crystals. Some may feature both. Consider which works best: silver, gold, brass, or some other metal. Also, select a type of crystal cut and which will best reflect the light the way you desire.

Another thing is to select a color if it has shades of any kind. Will that match the walls and flooring? How about matching the furniture or theme? Neutral colors like black and beige are always winners, but you may want the chandelier to be more interesting as a focal point.

Also take note of the style? Should you be looking for antique designs or modern? You can mix and match the designs, but it should not be in a jarring kind of way. There needs to be some relevant semblance and transition between items in a room.
